A Few Minutes with Margy Interview with Jennifer Cross of Bella Skin with Jennifer Lynn

Jennifer Cross tells us about her approach to providing high-level skin care for all types of skin with her unique hydrafacial machine, tailored regimes and targeted supplements. As a fitness trainer and an Esthetician, Jennifer focuses on whole body wellness for optimum results.

Margy: Hi! Welcome to a few minutes with Margy. Today, we’re interviewing my good friend Jennifer Cross, who owns Bella Skin by Jennifer Lynn and Body by You.

Good to see you!

Jennifer: Hi! Nice to see you, too!

Margy: Thank you so much for being here today.

Jennifer: Thanks for having me.

Margy: This is such a great spot. You've really done a lot with it. It’s lovely.

Jennifer: Very happy here.

Margy: So, tell me a little bit about your background. Where are you from?

Jennifer: I’m originally from New Jersey, youngest of five—crazy Italian family. I moved out here after getting married a long time ago. I raised my children here. My daughter’s in Danville, my son’s in El Dorado Hills, and I have two grandchildren. Both of my kids are Contra Costa County firefighters. I’m pretty proud of them.

Margy: You should be. Let’s talk about your business and how you got started in skincare.

Jennifer: About 31 years ago, I started teaching group exercise and loved it. After a while, I needed a break. During that time, my mother-in-law treated me to a facial. It was my first time getting one, and I was so curious. The esthetician answered all my questions, and when I got home, I decided that was what I wanted to do. I did some research, went to beauty school, and six months later, I was licensed and ready to start.

Margy: That’s an epiphany!

Jennifer: It really was a moment. I love skincare, but during quarantine, I couldn't do facials, so I got back into fitness. I earned my National Academy of Sports Medicine Personal Trainer Certificate, so now I do both fitness and skincare.

Margy: Wow, you definitely don’t let the grass grow under your feet. Tell me about some of your products and tools.

Jennifer: This is my skincare product line, and these are supplements I offer—probiotics, multivitamins from Q Science, Lira, and some other things. Over here is the fitness area. It’s small, but I do one-on-one training. Body by You!  I have a serene treatment room where the skincare happens. We do facials, waxing, and this is my newest addition—Benny Mini, the hydrafacial machine.

Margy: Wow, I love this product! It’s fantastic. Now, tell me what motivates you?

Jennifer: I love what I do—it never feels like a job. I just really love helping people. Whether it’s fitness or skincare, I like helping people feel good in their own heart and soul. If I can contribute to that, even in a small way, I’m happy.
